Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
1. General
The GTM Event Helper extension (“Extension”) is designed to simplify working with Google Tag Manager (GTM). This policy describes what data the Extension uses and for what purpose.
2. Data collected and processed by the Extension
- Access to Google Tag Manager (OAuth) — to connect your GTM account, the Extension uses Google’s official OAuth. We only receive the access needed to read your list of accounts, containers, and workspaces and to create events/tags in your GTM container at your request.
- Data on website pages — the Extension only runs on pages where you activate it. It uses the page elements you select (selectors, text) only to form events in GTM and does not send this data to third-party servers.
3. Purpose of data processing
Data is used solely to provide the Extension’s functionality: signing in to GTM, selecting container and workspace, and creating click events and corresponding tags in your Google Tag Manager.
4. Storage and transfer of data
The Extension does not store your Google credentials. Access tokens (OAuth) are stored locally in your browser in line with Chrome’s policy. We do not share users’ personal data with third parties for advertising or analytics.
5. User rights
You can revoke the Extension’s access to your Google account at any time via Google settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or by removing the Extension from your browser.
6. Contact
For questions about this privacy policy or the Extension’s operation, contact the developer at the email address shown on the extension’s Chrome Web Store page or on this site.
